John Bridgers died in 1802 in Hancock County, Georgia. We assume that John was born in NC. Various probate documents have his last name as Bridgers and Bridges. Bridges was used by his descendents. He married Cherry Ann Powell, born in 1765 in North Carolina. At least 4 children were born. The first documented is in 1794 in Georgia. It is probable that other children were born before 1794. John Bridgers died in 1802 in Hancock County, GA. Cherry Ann died after the 1850 census in Greene County, GA.
Hardy Bridges, Son of John Bridgers and Cherry Ann Powell was born in 17 Dec 1801 in Hancock Co., Georgia. Hardy died in 1854 in Attala County, MS. He married Nancy Bush Copeland 12 Dec 1822 in Greene Co., GA. She was born there in 1800 and died 29 May 1877 at Liberty Chapel, Attala Co., MS. All of Hardy's and Nancy's children were born in Greene County, GA. and moved with the family to Atalla County, MS in 1854. Hardy Bridges died shortly after arriving in MS.
Andrew Jackson Bridges, Hardy and Cherry's 4th Son, was born in 1832 in Greene Co., GA. and died about 1865. He married Sarah Ellen Winters 7 July 1853 in Attala Co., MS. She was born 23 May 1835 in Greene Co., GA and died in 1906 in Valliant, McCurtain Co., OK. Andrew Jackson was a member of the 40th Mississippi Infantry during the Civil War and was wounded and captured with the Fall of Vicksburg in 1863. He was released with an exchange of prisoners in late 1863 and returned with his Division. Late in 1864 he is in the General Hospital in Montgomery and is never heard from again. It is assumed that he died in Montgomery and is buried there or was returned to Atalla County and is buried in the Winters Cemetery in Atalla County.

His first wife, Mollie, died in 1898 and He married Mary Woods on 4th September 1898 at Clarksville, Red River Co., TX. Mary was born 18 June 1880 at Bogata, Red River Co., TX and died 06 February 1962 at Detroit, Red River Co., TX.

Hardie Lee Bridges married Ollie Mae Rhodes 9 October 1927 in Red Rover County. Ollie Mae Rhodes was born 3 October 1906 in Lamar County, TX. Hardie Lee Bridges died 25 December 1986 in Paris, Lamar County, TX. Ollie Mae Rhodes died 16 September 1998 in Paris, Lamar County, TX.
